Como 1907 vs Parma Calcio 1913

Our record: Como 1907 · Parma Calcio 1913

Pre-Match Analysis

Head-to-Head

Como are unbeaten against Parma in four attempts and have won only half of them, which is the tension this preview has to resolve. They took 1-0 here on 17 May 2026 after a goalless first half, and 1-0 at Parma on 3 May 2025, also scoreless at the break. The other two were draws: 0-0 at Parma on 25 October 2025 and 1-1 here on 19 October 2024.

Three goals scored by Como in four meetings, one conceded. That is the record of a side that handles this opponent, and it is also the record of a fixture that keeps finishing level. A straight home win would have paid on two of the four, and at 1.50 the selection needs closer to two in three.

That gap is why the confidence has come down from high to medium. Everything about the season-long comparison favours Como — the twenty-six-point margin, the division's meanest defence against its joint-weakest attack among the sides that stayed up. The direct record agrees on who is better and disagrees on whether that turns into three points. Both are true and the price only pays for one of them.

Form Guide

Three matchdays is not a form guide. It is a handful of results, and we treat it as such — last season's completed thirty-eight-game record carries the weight here, with the current season read as a sanity check on it.

Como's 2025/26 was one of the stories of the season. Fourth place, 71 points, twenty wins, eleven draws and seven defeats, 65 scored and 29 conceded. That 29 was the fewest goals allowed by any club in Serie A — fewer than the champions, fewer than the sides that finished above them. A defence that strong combined with a plus-thirty-six difference is not a fluke of scheduling.

This season they have seven points from three, and every one of those games was on the road: a 1-1 draw at Udinese on 22 August, a 2-1 win at Napoli on 30 August, and a 4-1 win at Genoa on 4 September. Seven goals scored, three conceded, unbeaten. Winning at Napoli and scoring four at Genoa inside a fortnight is a serious opening fortnight by any measure, and it was all done away from home.

Parma finished twelfth on 45 points, from eleven wins, twelve draws and fifteen defeats. The relevant number is 28 — their goals scored across the whole of last season, the joint-lowest total of any club that avoided relegation, level with the side that finished seventeenth. They conceded 46 for a difference of minus eighteen. Their survival was built on twelve draws, not on scoring.

The current season has produced nothing to soften that. Two matches, two defeats, no points and no goals: a 0-1 home loss to Cagliari on 22 August and a 0-2 defeat at Juventus on 29 August. Two games is a tiny sample, and losing at Juventus is not damning, but a club with a scoring problem that has not scored is at least consistent with itself.

Key Factors

The attacking mismatch is the core of it. Como scored 65 last season and have seven already; Parma scored 28 last season and none yet. That is a side averaging better than 1.7 goals a game meeting one averaging under 0.75.

The defensive side reinforces it rather than complicating it. Como allowed fewer goals than anybody in the division, so the route by which Parma normally take points — keep it tight, take a draw — runs straight into the one defence in Serie A best equipped to deny it.

Home advantage cuts an unusual way here. We have no 2026/27 home data for Como at all, which is a genuine hole. But a side that has taken seven from nine on the road is not likely to be worse in front of its own crowd, and the first home fixture of a campaign after a strong start away tends to arrive with the crowd behind it.

What the fixture means in mid-September is modest for Como and rather more for Parma, who cannot afford to leave the opening month pointless. That may push them to be marginally more adventurous than the shape of their season suggests.

The caveat, as always this early: a transfer window sits between last season's figures and now, and neither of these clubs is necessarily the club its numbers describe.

Our Verdict

The pick is a Como 1907 Win at 1.50 with medium confidence. Four things line up: last season's twenty-six-point gap, the best defensive record in the league against one of the two weakest attacks to survive the season, Como's unbeaten start achieved entirely away from home, and Parma Calcio 1913 arriving without a goal or a point. We rarely put high on a fixture this early in a season, and we are doing it here because the case does not rest on the three-game sample.

Our own record on 1X2 is honest rather than flattering — 55.9% from 195 settled picks at a slightly negative return — and the price band this sits in has run close to level. Neither argues against the selection; neither pretends it is free money.

What beats it is the draw. Parma took twelve of them last season, Como eleven, and two draw-heavy sides meeting can produce exactly the low-event afternoon that suits the visitors. A goalless first hour turns this from comfortable to nervous very quickly.
