Strasbourg vs Stade Rennais

Three of the last five meetings between these clubs have produced goals at both ends, and two have not — which is where a both-teams-score pick has to start. On 2 November 2025 Rennes won the home leg 4-1, already 2-0 up at the interval. On 2 February 2025 Rennes took it 1-0, goalless at the interval. Ten goals conceded in fourteen home games is the number that cuts against the pick: seven of those fourteen home games ended with the visitors failing to score at all. Rennes away have six wins, four draws and four defeats from fourteen, 23 scored and 26 conceded — a side that scores freely on the road but leaks at the same rate.

Recent weeks read differently for each. Strasbourg are unbeaten in seven, but two of those seven finished goalless: 0-0 at Auxerre on 7 March, 0-0 at home to Paris FC on 15 March, then a 2-3 win at Nantes on 22 March and 3-1 at home to Nice on 4 April. Second, in the other direction, Rennes on the road are the more useful half of the argument. Third, Strasbourg's own scoring at home is reliable enough. Twenty-four goals in fourteen, and only two home blanks all season, both 0-0 draws. The home half of the bet is the safer half.

Fourth, what the fixture means. Both sides are in the cluster chasing the European places with six rounds left for Strasbourg and five for Rennes, seven points between them. Neither can afford a cautious point, which is a soft argument for an open game but a soft one only — plenty of sides in that position play safe instead.
