Seven goals at the Stade Francis-Le Blé, four of them before the interval, and Brest 3-4 Stade Rennais at the end of it. The Breton derby produced the highest-scoring Ligue 1 match of the round and, for a fixture that usually turns on caution, an unusual amount of nothing being held back.

The pattern barely changed across the two halves. Rennais led 2-1 at the break and won the second period 2-2 as well, so the one-goal margin they established in the first forty-five minutes was the margin they took home.
