Schalke's first Bundesliga away fixture in three years finished FC Augsburg 3-0 FC Schalke 04, with the hosts a single goal ahead at the break and two more added after it. The half-time split is the one detail worth dwelling on: for forty-five minutes this was the one-goal afternoon the recorded history of the fixture suggested, and only in the second half did it become a three-goal one.

The preview said plainly that half of it could not be written, and that remains true in hindsight. Schalke were not in this division in 2025/26, so there was no points total, no away split and no goals column to set against Augsburg's.
