The result broke a pattern the preview had leaned on heavily. They collected thirty-two points on the road last season and twenty-nine at home, and a home draw with the champions is a better return than their own home record would predict. Whether two goals at the Pierre-Mauroy signals a change in how they play there or a single loud Friday night is unanswerable after one match, and last season's twenty-four-goal home campaign remains the honest baseline.
