Liverpool 0-2 PSG, and the tie was over long before the second leg confirmed it. PSG had won the first leg 2-0 in Paris on 8 April; repeating the scoreline at Anfield took them through 4-0 on aggregate without conceding once across one hundred and eighty minutes of a Champions League quarter-final.

The halves split unevenly. Nothing was scored before the interval — Liverpool went in level on the night and two down on aggregate, which is the one configuration where the home side could still argue the tie was live.
